what I did on Saturday

News, vacation news — Joe on July 20, 2008 at 6:39 pm

What I did on Saturday was going to the Newport “Black Ships Festival.” Which had to do with Japan, (so typical of me.) it was about how America reached Japan in the 19Th Century. It was fun! (To bad I didn’t buy a manga in Japanese. But I did buy a T- shirt from over there!) I got a free tourist map of Tokyo and other cool free stuff there too!

I also went to this comic book thing at

Hera Gallery

in Wakefield, RI which was about showing comic book art made by Rhode Island artists, the show was called “30 Days + 24 Hours” I made a few drawings at the show and they are up on the gallery right NOW!!!!!

Ian Curtis

Joy Division, People, music hot spot — Joe on July 6, 2008 at 6:51 pm

Ian Curtis (1956-1980) was the lead singer of the late 70s  post-punk band Joy Division. He was a fantastic singer, a very talented person.  Yet he died in May of 1980, he committed suicide and he was 23 years old. He was also married young, and he and his wife had a baby.
