Dear Readers who are stupid,

I have written to tell you an important fact. Usually, I write about news, however I have decided to stop and smell the roses. I’ve decided to tell you about this time of year.

The important fact: It is spring!

Two days ago, the 20th, was the vernal equinox. Yes, I allow you to think ‘What the heck?”. The Vernal Equinox is the first day of spring. It is one of the most balanced days of the year. It and the autumnal equinox are the only days of the year when day and night are the same length. There is a 12 hour day, and a 12 hour night! COOL! Also, at 1:00 P.M. you can balance an egg on it’s point!

But, that is only one special day. Yesterday was a holiday called Purim! It was fun.

I love spring1 It’s fun!

Trivia:What is a Hamnet’s?

Pun: Where did two bedbugs get married? In the Spring.

Aaron who wrote:I love pocky!

Post Script: Answer- A triangular cookie usually filled with jam, jelly, poppy seeds, or chocolate.

Pi Day Rules!!!

Aaron's Antics, Fun times, News, Random, lexicon and vocabulary, links — Aaron on March 14, 2008 at 8:13 pm

Dear Readers,

Today I, and people everywhere who like the beauty of mathematics, celebrate the official ‘pi day’. It is March 14th, every year. Why, you may ask; because March 14 is 3/14.

So in honor of every-one’s favorite irrational number, this post is henceforth dedicated in every respect to π (pi).

Firstly, I’ll explain what pi is, and how we use it. Pi is an irrational number, that is roughly equal to 22/7 (twenty-two sevenths). We use pi to calculate a large assortment of things. We use it to find the circumference of a circle. We do this by doing 2πr (said: Two pi r)This means we multiply the radius times 2 and pi. To find the area of a circle do: πr² (said: pi r squared).

Secondly, you should know the history of pi. The symbol was first used by William Jones, in the year of 1706.

Thirdly, without further ado I present to you the first 1100 digits of pi:

February Vacation ( :) )

Aaron's Antics, Fun times, lexicon and vocabulary, vacation news — Aaron on February 19, 2008 at 1:37 pm

Dear Readers,

Hooray! It is February Vacation. There is no school for a week. The only downside to this is that there is also no Art Stars :( either. Therefore there is not much news. However, readers, do not fret. I will most certainly write some news. This is just a “little” old. February is a very interesting month. February is named for Februa, a Roman holiday that was on February 15. It was the holiday of purification.

It was one of last months to be added to the calendar. They were added by Numa Pompilous in 700 B.C.E. It was until 450 B.C.E., the last month of the year.

February’s signs are Capricorn and Aquarius.

Fun Fact: February is one of the most misspelled and mispronounced words in the English language.

Trivia: When was the Eiffel tower made?

Pun: What did the nervous guitar do? Fret.

Answer: 1885

Readers,

I take a break from my usual documentation of Art Stars, to make instead a blog entry on blogs :). This is some facts on blogs.

Firstly, the word “blog” actually comes from the words “web-log” (Not my first post, This is Our Web-log). Secondly, blogs can be used for many different purposes.

Um…, Er…, there isn’t as much to tell you as I thought.

Here are the links to some great fake blogs. They were both made for the superb show, “The Office” (The real, AMERICAN version, not the stupid British Office)

Check em’ out. Now for my features. Trivia: In the 1870’s what was ketchup served as? Pun: What do you call a movie about feelings? An emotion picture.
