what I did on Saturday

News, vacation news — Joe on July 20, 2008 at 6:39 pm

What I did on Saturday was going to the Newport “Black Ships Festival.” Which had to do with Japan, (so typical of me.) it was about how America reached Japan in the 19Th Century. It was fun! (To bad I didn’t buy a manga in Japanese. But I did buy a T- shirt from over there!) I got a free tourist map of Tokyo and other cool free stuff there too!

I also went to this comic book thing at

Hera Gallery

in Wakefield, RI which was about showing comic book art made by Rhode Island artists, the show was called “30 Days + 24 Hours” I made a few drawings at the show and they are up on the gallery right NOW!!!!!

Joseph’s antics 2

News, vacation news — Joe on April 17, 2008 at 10:42 am

Here I am again with nothing to do, except blogging on the computer.  For some reason, I am going crazy over pocky. Yet I still am into the other Japanese stuff, like samurai, ninja, the arts, etc. I have been reading books over this vacation, I’m reading a samurai book that I got on my birthday. (Which was on the 29th of March.) So when are we back at Art Starz if you are asking that question? Well after this vacation we will be back at boring old school and at our exciting Art Starz program next week! But, (As you may head before.) Andrew the art Starz teacher, won’t be in the next Art Starz session! :( But we will have a nice and kind new teacher named Jay!

Joseph’s (April vacation.) antics!

Art Starz, Blog, News, vacation news — Joe on April 16, 2008 at 10:32 am

April 16th 2008,

I am on vacation right now, there will be no art starz this week unfortunately. :( So it’s just me in a one room and nothing to do except going on the computer at my dad’s new “office” at URI. Any ways, there will be a next Art Starz session at the Rochambeau library with a new art starz teacher… Jay. To bad Andrew won’t be there, he was cool… ( *sob.) Any how, last night I went out to dinner to Tina’s restaurant. It was a Jamaican restaurant on Federal Hill. My food was so good!!! Went to my dad’s work yesterday, and here I am in his office doing some more posting, and looking at our Japanese version of our blog. Or web-log if you like to call that. Yet on this vacation from Monday, I was at the library doing more of this posting stuff. Now I want to talk about school life in the Sixth grade, it is hell for me. I have to deal with this idiot fat races hippopotamus kid at my school named Bryan Cruz… Well I don’t wanna tell my WHOLE life on this post. Any ways, I’m just glade I’m going back to Art Starz next week! -Joe

Snow! :) :) :)

Aaron's Antics, News, Random, vacation news — Aaron on February 22, 2008 at 3:43 pm

Dear Readers,

It is snowing on this lovely day in Providence Rhode Island. At first there was a lot of snow, then it really died down. Now it is thicker than before. This might be the storm of the season! Snow is truly beautiful. Snow has many wonderful uses.

Firstly, snow is beautiful. There is a humongous amount of artwork that reflects the snow’s beauty. Secondly, snow is a symbol. Snow (at least ideal snow) is perfectly white. Not too cold, but not watery. Not too fluffy, but not hard as ice. Perfect. What all men strive to be. And both snow and mankind are perfect. Why? Snow is collective, like mankind. You can’t say “I took a snow from the ground.” Well neither can you say, “I am a mankind.” No, no. However, you can refer to a snowflake or a human being. Each of these is different. Each of these is an individual, and different. No two human beings or snowflakes can ever be the same. If they were the same, they would not function. They would have no soul. They would be pointless. All snowflakes are snow, and all humans are mankind, but each is different. Therefore a friendship is a snowball…

I digress.

Thirdly, snow is a source of water for the word. Fun Fact: Snow is ice. Wow. I am so skillful. The point is, snow is ice, and ice is water, therefore, without snow, there would not be water. Interesting… Fourthly, without snow plants would die. I know this seems like a stretch, but, hear me out. In the winter, it is very cold (WOW I AM A GENIUS : ) ). This cold would surely kill the flowers. However, the snow falls down. You you’d think this would kill the flowers, right, I mean, snow is cold. However, when a blanket of snow falls, it acts as just that; a blanket. Think about it. A blanket (not an electric blanket) or even clothes, really, doesn’t make any heat of it’s own, right. Well why do we feel warmer in clothes? Because they trap the heat we already have. Same principal for the flowers. What would happen if there were no plants? We would die in multiple ways. One: We would have no oxygen, and carbon dioxide would kill us through global warming. Two: The herbivore would die, then the predators, then the carnivores and omnivores. That would be scary. Kudos for snow!

I digress (AGAIN!!!)

Fifthly, snowmen would just be men. :)

Aaron’s (February Vacation) Antics

Aaron's Antics, Fun times, vacation news — Aaron on February 21, 2008 at 10:20 am

Dear Readers,

I know what you are thinking, “Has Aaron lost his mind?!”No he hasn’t. I have been writing these ‘random posts’ for good reason. By random posts I mean: “Comments Galore” About all of my aliases. “February Vacation”, about the history of the month February. And, “Blog Facts” About blogs. The reason is there is no Art Stars in February Vacation :( this year. I must say, I’m sorry for the randomness, but remember I still have my features. Soon enough there will e real news to report.

Kittens! (If you didn’t catch it, that was the random thing.)

Pun: What greek myth do bears like? PANDAra’s box.

Trivia: What is xenophobia?

Aaron.

Post script: Answer- Fear or hatered of strange new things or people.

February Vacation ( :) )

Aaron's Antics, Fun times, lexicon and vocabulary, vacation news — Aaron on February 19, 2008 at 1:37 pm

Dear Readers,

Hooray! It is February Vacation. There is no school for a week. The only downside to this is that there is also no Art Stars :( either. Therefore there is not much news. However, readers, do not fret. I will most certainly write some news. This is just a “little” old. February is a very interesting month. February is named for Februa, a Roman holiday that was on February 15. It was the holiday of purification.

It was one of last months to be added to the calendar. They were added by Numa Pompilous in 700 B.C.E. It was until 450 B.C.E., the last month of the year.

February’s signs are Capricorn and Aquarius.

Fun Fact: February is one of the most misspelled and mispronounced words in the English language.

Trivia: When was the Eiffel tower made?

Pun: What did the nervous guitar do? Fret.
